I have a very large kitchen with an unusual layout in a contemporary custom house. The kitchen was renovated with new counter tops and appliances in 2003 before we moved in but the original 1984 dated cabinetry was left in place. When it was time to renovate, we quickly realized that to rip out an entire kitchen of this nature would have cost well into 6 figures. A mixture of refacing and rip- out was are only option.

A google search gave me only limited options in the area of people qualified to handle a project of this nature. When we had Reed in, we (me and my brother-in-law who is a general contractor) were impressed with his understanding of the complex nature of this project and attention to detail. When I researched the topic, I was also impressed by the quality of Showplace Cabinetry, the fact that they provided a much better warranty than anyone around and also that both new and refacing products come out of the same factory and are a perfect match.

Our project was big, took about 6 weeks, and ended up being a mix of new cabinetry and refacing. The kitchen turned out beautifully. We were able to use the kitchen throughout the process with the exception of the ovens here and there. We have an active household w three teenagers and two cats and they were minimally disrupted in their routines. I had very specific details that I wanted, and even though at times they were unconventional because our house is modern, they turned out exactly what I wanted. Reed and Wayne were on time, always pleasant and friendly (to both humans and animals), courteous, and always cleaned up at the end of each day. We had one major glitch where the factory made something defectively. The heads of Showplace came out to see it themselves, and despite the products being made in the Dakotas and being trucked across the country, we were able to get the new cabinets in an expedited fashion with only a few days delay on the project. Though our time and financial estimate was on the larger side overall due to the size of the project, it was finished both on time and on budget. I have mostly new cabinetry as it turns out and the refacing parts look amazing. I did not realize til this project how great a well-executed reface can look. We are very please with the outcome of the project and would highly recommend Reed to anyone. I hope that he has before and after photos that he is able to show!
